Seeking somewhere solemn and divine? Want to gasp the essence of pureness and cleanliness of life itself? Divine Word Seminary is wrapped around the greeneries of Mother Earth. A walk through the pine trees and the cold breeze would be a fitted sanctuary to reflect. One of the interesting things they have is their vintage pipe organ. Too bad they’re not using it anymore.

Basilica of Saint Martin of Tours

Philippines and Asia’s largest Catholic church — Taal Basilica also known, as the Minor Basilica of Saint Martin of Tours is a Minor Basilica in the heritage town of Taal, Batangas. The Basilica is one astounding landmark that sits atop a hill right at the center of the town.

This magnificent historical monument is named after the patron saint of Taal, St Martin de Tours, whose fiesta is celebrated every 11th of November. The Basilica’s size and Baroque façade are grand. Its bizarre structure is even more charismatic with the dome ceilings hand painted with sophisticated detail. Conceivably, the most exceptional portion is the illumining altar wall made with silver and gold, which symbolizes the sacred liberation of the tabernacle.

There are many reasons to visit Tagaytay. Let’s have a time for reflection and solemnize this week for the sacrifices of Christ. Your tummy might be satisfied and filled because of the delectable dishes Tagaytay restaurants offer but your heart and soul can also be because of these Churches to go uphill.

This Holy Week, get closer to your family, to nature, and to God. Find your inner self, inner peace, and acceptance. And hey, don’t forget to whisper your wish if it’s your first time to visit the church!
